The Board of Gas Energy Australia comprises leaders in gas production, distribution and delivery with decades of experience. The Board has responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation, including:
- Oversight of the Gas Energy Australia annual budget;
- Setting and implementing the priorities for the Association, as well as agreeing on courses of action in implementing the Strategic Plan in accordance with agreed policy imperatives;
- Establishing Committees;
- Receiving advice from Committees and the Secretariat; and
- Appointing the Chief Executive Officer.

Amber Fennell - Chair
Amber is General Manager, LPG, for Origin Energy. With over 25 years' experience in the energy industry, she has end-to-end responsibility for Origin's LPG business, which employs 1,100 people across more than 70 sites in eight countries and three joint ventures in the Asia Pacific.
Her responsibilities include all aspects of the business including strategy, operations, supply chain management, compliance, logistics, sales and finance. Prior to this role, she was General Manager of Business Energy and Energy Services with Origin. She has held executive and senior finance and commercial roles with Origin, Simply Energy and AGL.
Amber has extensive experience driving and managing change and transformation initiatives, managing field-based operations and experience across all facets of financial management, including strategy, financial accounting, management reporting, planning, treasury, accounts payable and risk management.
She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Director on LPG Boards where Origin holds an interest, including Papua New Guinea, Fiji and American Samoa. Amber also sits on the Board of Neighbourhood Watch Victoria.
Amber holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Modern Languages (French), from the University of Melbourne, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
Gareth O'Brien - Deputy Chair
Gareth is Managing Director for Elgas Limited and an Executive Board Director of Elgas Limited and BOC Australia Limited.
Gareth joined BOC South Pacific in 2008 and during this period has held several senior finance roles including Chief Financial Officer for Elgas and, most recently, Chief Financial Officer for Linde PLC Region South Pacific. He is also a non-Executive director of Liquigas Limited in New Zealand.
Before joining BOC, Gareth held a range of senior finance, commercial and operational roles across regional and national markets in chemical, industrial and FMCG businesses.
Gareth holds a Bachelor of Finance Administration from the University of New England and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University. In addition, he is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Tanya Rybarczyk - Treasurer
Tanya is the General Manager for Kleenheat Gas, a part of Wesfarmers' Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers Division.
Kleenheat is an energy retailer in WA and NT, operating in the domestic LPG, LNG (as Evol LNG), natural gas and electricity segments.
In addition to these responsibilities, Tanya is a Director of several Wesfarmers subsidiary companies.
Tanya has held various senior roles in financial, commercial and operational disciplines during her 20 years with the Wesfarmers Group, including experience within agriculture, transport and retail.
Rohan is the General Manager, Projects, in the Fuels and Infrastructure division at Ampol.
Ampol's vision is to be the market leader in the supply of transport fuels in Australia, supported by the company's strong history in the supply of alternative fuels, such as biofuels, LPG and CNG.
Having joined Caltex Australia in 2001 as a process engineer at the Kurnell Refinery, Rohan has worked in a range of project, supply, operations and technical leadership roles across the company.
Rohan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) (Honours) degree from The University of Adelaide, a Masters of Business Administration (Executive) from the AGSM at the University of New South Wales, and a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
He is a Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
Ken is the General Manager of Manchester Tank and Equipment, responsible for the company's Australian, Asian and Chilean operations, ensuring all products are manufactured to the highest standard to meet and exceed customer expectations.
He has been with Manchester Tank for the last 28 years and has held the positions of Maintenance Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, Operations Manager and Senior General Manager for the past 14 years.
Ken's extensive experience has provided him with a broad range of industry insight, knowledge and a hands-on approach.
